The very popular reversible muffler
The second AMARC special edition is here!
This reversible muffler is from manipuri, a Japanese brand popular for its vintage-like scarves. Last year, an original AMARC combination was released and was well-received, leading to the second edition. This time, the wool material is solid black. The hand-printed silk features a navy-based bandana pattern. This combination is exclusive to AMARC.
The combination of black and navy has a chic image. However, the bandana pattern is accented with brown and white, and the silk itself has a glossy finish, giving it a glamorous impression. Sometimes elegant, sometimes masculine. The best thing about this scarf is that you can easily change the atmosphere you wear to suit your style and mood of the day. The diverse design was created with a free sensibility, and the arrangement is also left to the wearer's sensibility. Wear it to wrap around your shoulders, or wrap it around yourself casually, whichever suits you best.
All "Manipuri" scarves are hand-printed by skilled craftsmen, who carefully dye each scarf by hand. The color changes depending on the fabric and the season, so the ideal color can only be achieved by entrusting it to the eyes and hands of a craftsman with solid technical skills and rich experience. In addition, one board is used for each color, so for a pattern with 10 colors, the same process must be repeated 10 times, such as putting on the next color after the first color dries, waiting for it to dry, and then applying the next color. It is a miracle to steadily layer colors for the pattern you want to express and dye it exactly as you imagined without a 1mm deviation. The warm colors and delicate nuances of the pattern, with the dye firmly sunk into the fabric, are something that cannot be imitated by digital printing. It is the crystallization of craftsmanship given to us by craftsmen who take pride in the traditional dyeing techniques that take time and effort, and who are dedicated to just one scarf.
manipuri
Manipuri was launched in 2009 with the desire to share the charm of vintage scarves with many people. The scarves, inspired by vintage scarves, are made with a focus on materials and sizes, and are calculated to look beautiful no matter how they are wrapped. Every season, Manipuri's silk scarves and stoles continue to evolve through research, and are all hand-printed by skilled artisans, who carefully dye each piece by hand. In addition to scarves, they also offer bags and umbrellas. A clothing line has been added since 2020SS.
Hello everyone, this is Naoko Okusa. This winter started warm, but it's finally getting cold. The Manipuri scarves and stoles that were a big hit at the "NO.b" pop-up we went to the other day were a big hit. They sold like hotcakes, and now they're available at Life Store! The design and hand-dyeing process of Manipuri products are quite labor-intensive, but I'm really happy that they're available at an affordable price!
The first item in this collaboration is a "double-sided" scarf. The 100% wool one is black, and the 100% silk one with a bandana pattern is navy. Yes, by deliberately combining black and navy, we were able to create a sense of depth and volume within the dark tones. The position of the pattern that appears will change depending on how you tie it, so you can "wrap it differently" depending on your mood that day. The other scarf, a silk twill scarf, is an AMARC original. It has a hint of yellow, so it will add a little spice to your gray-toned outfit or denim styling. These two scarves are very rare and available in limited quantities. Be sure to get your hands on one before they sell out.
