After his graduation collection received high praise, he launched his own label specializing in shearling, leather, and fur. From material selection to design, he never compromises, creating leather pieces that are always fresh and stylish. His career began when BARNEYS NEW YORK spotted his debut collection and purchased every piece. Hello everyone, it’s Naoko Okusa. We’ve weathered the spring storms, and shivered through yet more chilly nights. Just like that, the seasons are surely moving forward. Spring is a season of hope, and I’m already looking forward to it.

And so, today I’m introducing some fur pieces (laughs). Hehe. Why now? Because if you don’t order now, they won’t arrive in time for this fall. There’s a story (！) about its 1995 debut collection: a buyer from the American luxury department store BARNEYS NEW YORK (which no longer exists) bought every single piece. I’ve had dinner with Karl, too, and when I fell in love with these pieces at the 2026 Fall/Winter preview, I made an enthusiastic request to bring them to AMARC LIFE STORE customers. The first is this vest. I’m so excited about what makes it special that I’ll list the details (laughs).

I borrowed a sample and wore it for a few days to see how it felt, and I understand why a certain hugely popular select shop buys so many every year♡ This is wonderful. It’s no surprise, given the many years they’ve spent designing leather and fur—and that they remain a top brand. In fall, wear it over a T-shirt or lightweight knit; in winter, layer it over a chunky knit; and in the depths of winter, wear it under or over a coat. In spring, layer it over a shirt. I hope you’ll enjoy it through the seasons. And I’m looking forward more than anyone to styling it for years to come and watching it develop a beautiful patina.

I also requested a buttoned cape in the same material. Fold back the top and wrap it around your shoulders for a lovely frame around the face—it’s another winner. You can wear it over a jacket, dress, or coat, and because this style can stay on indoors, it works for all kinds of occasions. Oh, this one is adorable, too! And the fingerless gloves are actually already one of my favorite pieces.
